Full offense but people are completely alright with spending money to go to Puerto Rico and the islands for vacation/leisure and overpaying for resorts that do nothing really for the country as a whole but are hesitant to give aid in midst of a devastating natural disaster. And yall wonder why island natives hate tourism.

its been over a hundred days and more than 43% percent of Puerto Ricans still don’t have power.

Is it okay if I add pictures to this post? This used to be a road and a bridge. Hurricane Maria happened in September and I took this picture on Jan 1st. People and media outlets have completely forgotten about the island. Fortunately my family lives in an area that recieved power and running water already but I obviously can’t day the same for everyone. I took this picture only 30min away from my house in Ponce. People sre still homeless, still without power, still without water, and suicide numbers are rising.

The picture above is a few local organizations recommended to me buy a friend who has seen some of their work to help rebuild island

I would hesitate to donate to Unidos por Puerto Rico because that fund is run by the governor’s wife and she literally said that the people in charge of what will be done with the money are private companies (that I don’t trust), but hispanicfederation is a good fund.
